Hyderabad author Premasis Satman releases first book, Nothing Feels Different

Hyderabad, Telangana, India, September 3, 2026 pressrelease.in - A new book by Hyderabad based author Premasis Satman takes up a question he says comes up repeatedly among Christian readers in India: why daily life can feel unchanged after a person comes to faith.

Nothing Feels Different was released this month by Proclaim Salvation Today. It runs to nine chapters and roughly 17,000 words in A5 format.

The book takes its title from a sentence the author says he has heard in many forms over twenty years. Someone prays, believes, and then finds the same room, the same habits and the same struggles waiting the next morning, and concludes that either it did not work or something is wrong with them.

Satman's argument is that the disappointment usually comes from measuring the wrong thing. The book works through a framework in which a person is understood as spirit, soul and body, and locates the change described in 2 Corinthians 5:17 in the part a person cannot directly observe. From there it covers the renewing of the mind, righteousness understood as a gift rather than a score, and faith as something received rather than manufactured. Three illustrated diagrams support the text.

"Most of the people who write to me are not lazy and they are not pretending," Satman said. "They are checking the wrong part of themselves and drawing the wrong conclusion from it. This book is my attempt to show them where to look."

Nothing Feels Different is written for readers who are already believers and who are asking a question about their own experience. It assumes no prior theological reading, and is written in plain English for readers in their late teens and twenties, an audience the author says is poorly served by the devotional publishing currently available in the region, most of which is imported and written in an American register.

Premasis Satman is an author, Bible teacher and software engineer based in Hyderabad, with more than twenty years across writing, social work and digital strategy. He was born into a fourth generation Christian family in Odisha, holds a Master of Social Work, is a graduate of Charis Bible College, and is completing an MA in Theology at Lucent University, Texas.

His writing on missions has appeared in Evangelical MissionsQuarterly. With his wife Deepakshi, he runs PS.Today, a digital platform publishing daily devotional material in English, Hindi and Odia alongside an online prayer service and a Bible teaching programme. The book is the platform's first move from digital publishing into print.
