Grandé Digital says honest channel advice including recommending offline-first strategies is what mid-sized Indian businesses actually need

In an industry built on selling more digital, one Pune agency is doing the opposite.
Grandé Digital, a digital marketing agency working with modern Indian brands, is publicly advising a segment of its clients to deprioritise social media marketing entirely and redirect those budgets toward referral networks, on-ground activations, and direct sales.
The position stems from a simple observation: the businesses most likely to waste money on digital marketing are the ones whose customers aren't making decisions on Instagram or LinkedIn in the first place.
"I run a machining unit for the automobile sector alongside this agency," says Enakshi Pasricha, Founder of Grandé Digital. "And I do zero digital marketing for it. Not because I don't believe in it but because I know exactly who my customers are and how they buy. Most agencies would never tell you that. We do."
Where Digital Marketing Actually Fails
According to Pasricha, social media and content marketing consistently underperform for businesses that rely on local relationships, trade referrals, or B2B distribution networks, categories that represent a significant portion of India's mid-market economy.
The tell-tale signs a business is spending in the wrong channel: posting consistently without a measurable lead pipeline, running ads to an audience that doesn't make purchase decisions online, and treating social media activity as a proxy for marketing effectiveness.
"If your buyer is a procurement manager at a manufacturing firm, no amount of Instagram reels is going to close that deal," says Pasricha. "The most effective marketing move in that situation is picking up the phone. Offline isn't outdated, it's just underrated."
A Diagnostic-First Approach
Grandé Digital's position is that channel selection should follow an honest audit of who the customer is and where they actually make decisions, not default to whatever is currently trending in marketing.
For businesses where digital does work like visual products, D2C brands, lifestyle categories, companies building long-term audience trust, the agency argues social and content investment pays off significantly. The distinction lies in whether the audience is genuinely reachable and persuadable online, and whether the business has the patience to play a long-term brand-building game rather than needing immediate pipeline.
For everyone else, the recommendation is a website, a well-maintained Google Business Profile, and a serious investment in the channels their customers actually use, which are often offline.
