EducationWorld Celebrates India's Best Higher Education Institutions

The EducationWorld India Higher Education Rankings 2026-27 Awards ceremony staged at The Grand New Delhi, felicitated and celebrated the nation's best higher education institutions (HEIs) as per the outcome of the EW India Higher Education Rankings 2026-27 released earlier this month.

The unique and comprehensive EW India Higher Education Rankings (EWHIER) 2026–27 rate and rank India’s top 400 government and private universities, top 500 arts, science and commerce colleges, top 250 private engineering colleges, and top 200 private B-schools across more than 230 cities nationwide.

The EWHIER 2026–27 were compiled by the highly reputed Bengaluru-based opinion polls and market research company AZ Research Partners Pvt. Ltd. Over 100 AZ personnel interviewed more than 2,175 faculty members, final-year students, and industry leaders to assess the country’s top higher education institutions on 10–12 parameters of academic excellence, including research and innovation, faculty competence, placements, leadership, and infrastructure.

The awards ceremony attracted over 300 HEI leaders including vice chancellors, deans and faculty of
India’s top-ranked higher education institutions. Event partners included grayQuest, India's leading
education financing platform; the University of Western Australia; and CSB Bank.

Moreover, the awards-cum-conclave featured stimulating panel discussions and lectures. David Das,
Chief Operating Officer, India Operations at the University of Western Australia, a globally Top 100
ranked university all set to open India campuses in Chennai and Mumbai, delivered a special address
titled ‘Future of Higher Education in India’ offering an international perspective on the evolving
landscape of Indian higher education and its global competitiveness.

Dr. Joe D. May, Chancellor Emeritus of Dallas College, USA, delivered a brilliant Masterclass on
‘Authenticity is the New Currency: Artificial Intelligence, Trust, and the New Meaning of Readiness’,
elaborating on how AI is reshaping learning, hiring, and the meaning of graduate readiness with
particular focus on India’s scale and opportunity.

The panel discussion on the theme ‘Innovations laggards: How India’s universities can catch up’ was
moderated by Dilip Thakore, Publisher/Editor, EducationWorld and featured distinguished panelists
including Atul Khosla, Founder and Vice-Chancellor, Shoolini University, Bajhol (HP); Dr. Ajit Pratap
Singh, Dean of Admissions, BITS Pilani; Dr. Arpita Gupta, Dean of Research, OP Jindal Global
